This year has been a transition time for us. We made the decision to stay the winter in snow country. We've been fortunate to be able to live here on a small farm owned by friends during the past few summers. We lived in the area some years before and coming back was like we'd never left. Our biggest challenge was figuring out how we survive winters of minus double digit cold and large accumulations of snow and do it in a motor home. Two feet overnight are not uncommon and I experienced one night some years ago that produced almost three feet before morning.

House Sitting, A New Adventure.
I had hoped to keep a daily log and post it on this web site but life got in the way. House sitting during the winter has been the answer for us.

Our friends told us not to worry.
We had begun to make plans to return to New Mexico where we have a house and rental property. As winter approached, offers to house sit came in. By the time I had the enclosure for the motor home completed, we had more offers than time to fit them in. We're on our third adventure and I hope to be able to catch up on everything that had been put aside during the spring, summer and fall. The first two house sitting adventures were both for three weeks. This one is for two months, the next is six weeks and the final one, before moving back into the motor home for the summer, is one month.

Pictures for people who don't care for cold and snow.
During the spring and summer I had a few chances to take the day off and go on photo taking excursions. During the days, weeks and months ahead, I plan to post some of the photos here. Here's a day's end photo from last fall.
