 |
A combination of peach kernels and peach bark can be made into a syrup for treating colds, flu, intermittent fever, chronic bronchitis and asthma. Combine one cup of dried and peeled peach kernels and one cup of pounded peach bark to two cups of distilled water and two cups of vinegar, preferably not distilled vinegar. Cover and let it stand in a warm location for five to six days. Gently shake the mixture at least twice daily. Next, simmer the solution over a very low hear until reduced to a pint of liquid. Add half a cup of brandy or whiskey to the cooled mix, place in a tightly sealed, glass container to preserve it and store it in a cool place until needed. One tablespoon is given every three to four hours. The same syrup can be used to expel parasites. Take two tablespoons two or three times daily. The same syrup can be used as drops or relieve ear ache.
